GEN has been a trading partnership since 1989. The structure matters: a partnership means the people responsible for the business are the same people dealing with customers, and that accountability shapes everything about how we work.
Some of our customers have been with us for nearly thirty years. They stay because the service is genuinely good, not because contracts make it awkward to leave. Every client has their own account manager, who knows their systems and can be reached directly by email, Matrix or their own phone line. When something goes wrong in the small hours, the HelpDesk takes tickets around the clock, answered within your service level.
We cover a wide range of technology: connectivity and hosting, cloud and virtualisation, encrypted voice, messaging and email, cyber security, IT outsourcing, big data, bespoke software, AI integration, and managed infrastructure. On the support side, we go deep on the platforms businesses actually run on: Proxmox, Linux, HPE, Synology, DrayTek, Teltonika, Asterisk, FreePBX, Microsoft, and Apple, some of which we have been supporting since the early 1990s. Legacy systems are fine. Platforms others have retired are fine. If it runs, we can support it.
Our software division builds and maintains bespoke systems, and has done since the beginning. We still support software we wrote in the early 2000s. That is not sentimentality; it is a commitment to owning the responsibility for systems we build for as long as they are in use.
Both our UK data centres run on green power from solar and wind: our own panels on site, and green energy we buy in when we need more. Whether a given day is carbon neutral depends on load and the time of year, and our target is every day by 2030. We hold our supply chain to the same standard.
We also carry out practical AI work: large language models, agent frameworks, workflow automation with n8n, and AI-integrated telephony and messaging. Not proof-of-concept work; production deployments running in businesses now.
