Virtualisation simply means that your server is in the cloud, the cloud means our UK based green powered data centre. We can provide a wide range of options, from small single server instances with a handful of cores up to multi-server arrangements with 100+ cores. You can get a virtual machine running within a few minutes, and our staff will assist you getting it setup with whatever software you need.
Containerisation is a relatively new concept in cloud provisioning, and unlike virtualisation it is much more lightweight, allowing pre-packaged services to be spun up quickly and easily. If, for example you needed a cloud provisioned mysql database, you could virtualise it, and for a high load application that would be the way to go, but for lesser loads containerisation is cheaper and quicker.
There are cloud providers who will give you a linux virtual server for £1 a month. You can't do much with it, but its there. We are not a £1 a month provider, simply because we don't host your data in the far east, and we don't just leave you with it. Our USP is that we manage our customers, and that means we'll handle backups, patching, and security of your cloud presence, and always be here 24/7 to help you.
If there was one aspect that sets us aside from the competition, its support. We won't leave you hanging, and we won't stand whilst you have issues. If you need support, its yours, and its free. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and we have a range of Service Level Agreements (SLA's) if you need that level of support guaranteed.
Dedicated Windows, Linux or MacOS desktops, hosted as containers or virtual machines, and made available over RDP, SSH, VNC, AnyDesk, Royal Server or other remote access system. Remote virtual desktops provide many of the same features of NextCloud, Libra Office Online, TruNAS etc but with the added advantage of complete customisation and personalisation. We are able to migration some physical clients to virtualisation, but not in all cases. Virtual Desktops provide a cost effect alternative to Windows 365, Azure Virtual Desktop, Amazon WorkSpaces, Citrix, VMWare Horizon etc.
Unlike our competitors, we embrace hybrid cloud solutions, mixing both on-premise virtualisation and GEN Cloud services to provide a high availability environment. We offer iSCSI, vSAN and other storage solutions to provide converged cloud solutions based on ProxMox & KVM. Edge solutions provide virtualisation as a service with full control of your KVM/Proxmox instances allowing almost infinite configurations and high scaleability. Extend edge with GEN Cloud by adding High Availability and load balancing, as well as managed backup and replication.
We are experts at taking a physical server and virtualising it, maintaining every aspect of its operation during the process, or, creating a bare-metal copy of an existing physical server. You can ship the hardware to us and we'll do all the work, or we can connect remotely and take images to be used in the process. We can also accept hard drives as images to be used for building virtuals, or to be used a mountable filesystems for existing or new virtual servers to speed up deployment. Likewise, we can take a virtual server and convert it to a physical server, or provide the images of the server on hard drives or tapes as needed.
The following are our fixed plans, these are designed to meet basic needs, but we're a flexible provider and if you need something custom then we can provide exactly what you need, and the majority of virtualisation customers select custom packages to suit your needs. We do not (unlike many) suspend your service for over-bandwidth or other limits, instead we'll contact you and discuss. All VPS services are beased on a fair usage policy, which means that we expect you to select a suitable VPS for you needs and not overload a smaller VPS. An overloaded VPS will cause service and performance issues and we cannot resolve these for you without upgrading. All Virtual services below include an installation of Linux (Alma, Rocky, Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora), a standard firewall, and 5 ports forwarded to the outside world. Our standard service levels are shown here, but we have custom service levels available for customer who need something specific. Service level
agreements can be added to most services including storage, hosting, cloud, virtualisation, and maintenance.
Emergency Support can be added to any service level providing a 1 hour response 24/7 for a specific scenario, e.g. a corporate server, so that everything is on a 4 hour response M-F, but this server is a 1 hour response 24/7. This
is more economical than having a SLA8/9 on all services.
You can upgrade or downgrade service level as needed with 30 days notice.
Some
customers start a new project with development and a higher service level and then roll it back once the project reaches stability. Whatever you need we can provide it so contact us for a quote.
