n8n connects applications, moves data between them and runs business processes as visual workflows. Each step is explicit, testable and versioned, and the same input produces the same result every time, which is exactly what an approval, a reconciliation or a customer notification needs.
GEN host n8n in the UK or on your own servers, design and build the workflows, and support them, including the ones that hand work to and from AI agents.
A workflow connects a trigger to a series of actions. It can start from a webhook, a schedule or an event in another application, then run a chain of nodes that transform data, call APIs, make decisions on fixed rules, and write the results back to your systems. Because every step is explicit, a workflow can be tested before it goes live and read afterwards by someone who did not build it.
That makes n8n the right tool for integration, ETL-style data work, notifications, approvals and back-office processes: anything where the business already knows the steps and needs them followed reliably. n8n is not a single integration but a platform for running many of them, so processes stay consistent however many systems they touch.
n8n hosted by GEN in the UK with backups, monitoring and access controls, or installed and managed on your own servers in line with your governance and compliance requirements.
Workflows for complex processes, from a proof of concept to production: CRM and ERP integration, ticketing automation, data reconciliation, approvals and compliance workflows.
Secrets held securely rather than pasted into nodes, logging that shows what ran and why, and workflows designed to be maintained by someone other than their author.
n8n follows the steps it is given, so on its own it is less flexible than an AI agent where a task needs reasoning about natural language. The answer is usually to use both. We connect n8n to AI agents so that an agent can start a workflow and a workflow can hand a task to an agent: the agent reads the enquiry and decides what it is about, and n8n raises the ticket, requests the approval and sends the notification, the same way every time.
Where a process needs code rather than a workflow, or a system has no usable API, our integration team builds the connection, and n8n can call it like any other node.
A workflow automation platform. Each workflow starts from a trigger, such as a webhook, a schedule or an event in another application, and runs a chain of steps that transform data, call APIs and write the results back to your systems. Workflows are built in a visual designer, with hundreds of ready-made integrations and room for custom code.
If the steps are known in advance, n8n. It runs the same workflow the same way every time, and every step can be tested and audited. An AI agent is for work that needs judgement, such as reading an enquiry and deciding what it is about. The two work well together: the agent decides, and n8n carries out the predictable steps.
Yes. We host n8n in the UK on our own infrastructure, with backups, monitoring and access controls, or install and manage it on your own servers in line with your governance and compliance requirements.
Yes, from a proof of concept to production workflows: CRM and ERP integration, ticketing automation, data reconciliation, approvals and compliance workflows, with secrets held securely and logging that stands up to an audit.
It follows the steps it is given, so it is less flexible than an agent where the task needs reasoning about natural language. Large workflows also need careful design and testing, like any other software, and we treat them that way.
